This is my last semester of high school. In the coming months, I will take my final bows on the PAC stage, publish my last edition as Editor-in-Chief of Spyglass, and say goodbye to the people who have shaped my last six years. I know, I know, I still have to get through four months of in-class essays and hour-long drives, but it’s February, so love is in the air.
I currently have nothing but love in my heart for the people who make Westridge what it is. Amidst uncertain times with the expansion of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Westridge students mobilized, attending the Free America Walkout in Pasadena and organizing a teach-in during lunch–demonstrating resistance towards current government actions. Whether it be through attending these demonstrations, using the new compost bins, or singing happy birthday to their friends, I love seeing students uniting and engaging with our community. I especially love seeing the Spyglass staff tirelessly working to produce the February 9 edition, which is filled with new stories just for you to read!
As the Valentine’s Day edition, we have a suite of sweet stories sure to make this February 14 a special one, no matter your relationship status. In fact, editor Josie S.-J. ’27 compiled a list of fun activities for you singletons to try this Valentine’s Day.
This edition also features stories marking the anniversary of the Eaton Fire, whose aftereffects are still present for many in our community. Managing Editor Rebecca L.’27 covered the experiences of those affected here.
Whether you’re in search of a spicy opinion piece about Taylor Swift or an uplifting story about the Water Polo team’s recent successes, this edition has it all. I hope you enjoy reading, and don’t forget to spread a little love this season. We all need it.
Love,
Valentina

![Lacrosse had an incredible season, making it to the semifinals. Jeff Searock, the father of player Sophie S. '28 has gone to most games and said, "[The season has] been great. Great coaching, great players, kids have great attitude. You can't ask for much more."](https://westridgespyglass.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_3652-1200x900.jpeg)
