As two self-proclaimed matcha addicts, we decided to put our obsession to use and review five of the most talked-about matcha spots in Pasadena: Salted Butter, Miopane, Mandarin Coffee Stand, Danbi Coffee, and Starlet. If you’re wondering what qualifies us, between the two of us we’ve sampled matcha all over Los Angeles, New York, and beyond. For this review, we rated each café based on four categories: flavor (quality and taste of the matcha), value (price compared to the cup size), vibes (the atmosphere, interior, and overall feel of the café), and an overall rating that combines these factors together. So, if you’ve ever wondered whether the long lines are worth the wait, this is for you.
