1. The Frightening Free
As you try to upload your History paper to Turnitin, all of a sudden…the Wi-Fi goes out! The worst nightmare of any Westridge student. In a panic, you switch networks. You turn the Wi-Fi off, then on again. Still nothing. Your eyes widen in horror as the gravity of your situation sets in—your paper is due next period! What will you do?

2. The Library
It’s 3 p.m. With two tests, a quiz, an English presentation, and a homework question due in the next two days, the library sounds like the perfect place to lock in. But oh, how wrong you were! The gruesome scene lying before you when you enter the library is one straight out of a horror movie. Papers everywhere. Computers stacked on top of books. Fourth graders running around. And not an open table in sight.

3. The Senior Tables
While on your way to The Commons, you realize what you’re about to pass. The looming Senior Tables. Groups of seniors are hunched over in loud discussion. Subconsciously, your feet quicken, and you grip your backpack a little bit tighter with your sweaty palms. Wait—Did I wear my college merch today? Am I breathing too loudly? The hammock sways as you pass, the weight of a body inside as a hand hangs limply over the edge. You can feel the creeping, glaring eyes as you dash past—your fight or flight instinct taking over.

4. The Dungeon
Drip, Drip, Drip. You look around, and a human-sized cutout of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stares back at you as lightning thunders outside. The rain slowly leaks into the Dungeon, and you already feel suffocated by the smell of mold and creeping fog as the claustrophobia overtakes your senses.

5. The Smell
After a terrifying math class, your stomach grumbles in anticipation for lunch. But the moment you step through the door of The Commons, an oozing, sulfurous smell enters your nostrils. It creeps up your sinuses, clawing up towards your brain. Your temples begin to ache. No longer hungry, your appetite is smothered by the mysterious smell.

6. The Black Box
No matter how many times you blink, you can’t seem to make out anything. The lights are off, and the darkness swallows you whole. You hear a creak behind you, and a feeling of horror overtakes you—you never know who’s lurking in the shadows.

7. The Senior Chant
Finally, the assembly ends as the student body rises from their seats and pushes out the door. Suddenly, a cacophony of voices ricochets through your eardrums as the hairs on your neck stand on end. Your widened eyes dart to the exit, but the crowd of khaki and green blocks your way. As the waves of deafening noise rattle your brain, all you can do is squeeze your eyes shut and pray.

8. The Meeting
Fidgeting outside the unassuming door, you glance down at the email from your teacher on your phone. Can we meet during lunch to talk? Thousands of scenarios flood your mind—what if you did something wrong? What if you’re failing? Your hands shake as you reach forward and turn the doorknob…
