As November rolls in, the holiday spirit is impossible to miss. The season of decorations, gingerbread cookies, and cheer is officially here! Of course, the holiday spirit isn’t exclusive to Christmas— it takes many forms and can be tied to any celebration you hold dear. Personally, I adore this time of year and all the festivities that come with it: the gaudy lights, songs, and overall cozy vibes. Here are some fun ways to get into the festive mood:
- Go to Target and roam the candle aisle: Target is incredible for so many reasons. For one, it truly embodies consumerism, and I happen to buy into it hook, line, and sinker. Candles are essential for creating a cozy vibe, and the Target candle aisle is truly a sight to behold. Fill your senses with every possible seasonal candle you can find. I adore basking in the glory of a pine scent.
- Decorate gingerbread houses: I love decorating gingerbread houses with my friends or family, especially if it’s a competition. Think “Great British Bake Off,” except not in a tent in the middle of a park. This is the perfect cozy holiday activity!
- Brew apple cider: Hot take: I hate hot cocoa. If you’re like me and don’t drink cocoa, warm apple cider is the perfect drink for the holiday season! Trader Joe’s has an amazing apple cider and all you have to do is heat it up!
- Secret Santa: Secret Santa is the ideal holiday season activity because, let’s be honest, no one wants to buy presents for ALL of their friends and family. The anticipation of who’s getting you a present and the agonizing weeks leading up to finding the perfect gift puts me in that holiday mood.
- Blast those holiday songs: Honestly, nothing hits harder than a good Christmas song. When I need to get into the spirit, “I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas” fills me with holiday cheer. Get that Christmas mix going, and luxuriate in the festiveness.
