On April 14, Spyglass elected next year’s Editor-in-Chief Valentina V. ’26, Managing Editor Rebecca L. ’27, Website Manager/Designer Gemma A. ’27 and Social Media Manager Frances B. ’27. The 2025–2026 Editorial Board is excited to take on the role of leading Spyglass next year.
Editor-in-Chief

Valentina is honored to be the next Spyglass Editor-in-Chief and looks forward to encouraging younger staffers’ independence and improving the writing process. “Something that’s so exciting is that our staff is so young right now, and I think there’s a lot of good potential and a lot of opportunities to build this staff into something really amazing,” she said.
Valentina explained that Spyglass is especially meaningful because it has helped her grow her voice, writing, and curiosity through her four years on staff. “I’m really excited to get to interact with more people next year and be the forefront of Spyglass in that way,” she said.

Managing Editor
Rebecca is excited to be Managing Editor next year. Since joining Spyglass in seventh grade, she said, “It’s definitely been a dream of becoming Managing Editor.”
She hopes to expand Spyglass’ photo journalism, including connecting with the photography class students. Similar to Valentina, she’s looking forward to working with new staffers after positive experiences with the middle school staff this past year.
“Spyglass is definitely my passion,” Rebecca said, “It does take a bit of my time…but it’s all filled with joy. And I’m so happy to be able to do it. It really has become a big part of my life.”

Website Manager/Designer
Gemma wrote a statement on her role as Website Manager/Designer: “I am so excited to be taking on the role of Website Manager and Designer for the 2025–2026 school year. This upcoming year on Spyglass, I plan to make the website even more user-friendly and appealing to increase reader engagement and honor the incredible stories and art created by our staff. I feel blessed to have learned from the current Website Manager, Reed, and can’t wait to support throughout Spyglass’ new era of leadership.”
Social Media Manager

Frances wrote a statement on her role as Social Media Manager next year: “I’m so excited and honored to be a bigger part of Spyglass next year! I have been posting for the Spyglass Instagram this year, and it is very fun, so I am so excited to continue. I really hope to grow our social media and get more people to read Spyglass!”
