Seasoned 12th graders pile on top of each other in the senior hammock to procrastinate the impending early action college deadlines. The jaded juniors have coolly stepped into their new role of upperclassmen, as the curious new students wander around the campus wide-eyed and giggly.
The early autumn clouds have rolled in as September comes to an end, and Spyglass returns in full swing with our first edition of the year.
The start of the school year brought excitement for the new faces appearing throughout campus. Spyglass introduces the four new faculty members with some snazzy profiles highlighting the many attributes these new community members bring to Westridge. The new year also brought some uncertainty pertaining to current events, such as the killing of Charlie Kirk, the impact of the Trump administration, and community contentions like the late release of class schedules.
Westridge students have faced the precariousness with courage—including seniors Esperanza O.-C. and Lucia F.-R., who started an Instagram account for teens wanting to support local immigrant communities, and Spyglass staffer Ruby S. ’29, who wrote an opinion on valuing humanity above politics.
We’ve been working tirelessly to ensure that our content and process will be as seamless and readable as possible. We hope you enjoy all of the stories that Spyglass has to offer.
Happy reading!
