On December 6, Head of School Andrea Kassar announced Dance Teacher Ms. Kashmir Blake will retire at the end of the 2024–25 school year. Many of her students, and the rest of the Westridge community, are sad to see her go. Mady K. ’27, one of Kashmir’s Intermediate Dance students, said, “I’m gonna miss her fun stories and her fun personality. It always lightens up my day.” Kashmir said she’s “ready to retire the dancing shoes.” Not only will she miss dancing, but she’ll also miss the community. She said, “I’m gonna miss this place. I’m gonna miss work. I’m gonna miss my fellow employees, [and] I’m gonna miss the girls so much.”

"[Teachers] are part of the community," said Dr. Kelly. "Just like our families and students."](https://westridgespyglass.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/dr.-kellyyy-1-e1748143600809.png)

Westridge will not be the same without you, Ms. Kashmir. Thank you for bringing your guidance, talent and spunk to the Westridge community.
