Westridge Says Goodbye to Sarah Simon
This year, Westridge says goodbye to Human Development Coordinator Ms. Sarah Simon. Ms. Simon joined Westridge two years ago at the beginning of the 2020–2021 school year and has helped to further develop Westridge’s Human Development classes.
Ms. Simon has built close connections and relationships with their students over her time here. She said, “Even through remote teaching, I was able to make really strong connections with students, and what has been so great about that is that it’s carried over into this year. I was able to really build on my relationships and have these really special relationships that wouldn’t have been quite the same if I just came in regularly.”
Their favorite place on campus is the Treehouse, and they said they will miss “all kinds of things” about Westridge but will miss their students most. “The students really just make [Westridge]. Both individual students but also the student body overall—even kids I don’t really know—are just so full of life, joy, and energy. It’s really fun to be around, so I’ll miss that for sure.”
Ms. Simon says that she plans to do freelance work and that she doesn’t have current plans to teach at another school. “I’m gonna see where the wind takes me.”
